Reflecting on the history of the development of management thought and theory, as described at the beginning of A Century of Management: “Historically, the evolution of organizations, especially economic organizations, and the development of management thought and theory have had a mutually reinforcing relationship. The progress of management research has supported and ensured the consolidation of new types of organizations. This intertwined relationship is the fundamental driving force behind the evolution of management thought and theory.”
With the scientific and industrial revolutions, and starting from the “management movement” in 19th century America, Western modern management theory has developed continuously over more than a century. China’s more than forty years of reform and opening up have created an economic miracle that has attracted worldwide attention. During this historical process, Chinese managers have accumulated rich practical management experience. Many among them, besides being proficient in corporate practice, are knowledgeable, wise, reflective, and have a strong interest in research. Compared to traditional scholars who apply Western theoretical frameworks to the Chinese context for management research, these practitioners bring a unique perspective.
At this crossroads, ZHUOER is committed to cultivating a new generation of Executive Scholar in China through its doctoral research programs, aiming to develop “Chinese management thought.” In addition to creating knowledge, we collaborate with Tsinghua University Press and Economic Management Press to publish books based on doctoral research outcomes. This dissemination of wisdom contributes to society and promotes sustainable development in China and globally.
Dauphine-PSL / THU / BNAIExecutive DBA
In the era of globalization, the Executive Doctorate in Business Administration (Executive DBA) program, jointly offerred by Paris Dauphine University-PSL, BNAI and ZHUOER of Tsinghua University, integrates Eastern and Western perspectives, aiming to cultivate a new generation of entrepreneurs and managers. The program is dedicated to developing “Chinese management thought” and creating “Executive Scholar”, nurturing and transmitting sources of corporate business philosophy and management ideas. It explores new models for China’s development under economic and financial globalization, and new methods for the coordinated development of industry and finance.
Over more than a decade of development, the Dauphine-PSL Executive DBA China program has become one of the top, most mature, and most successful DBA programs in China and the Asia-Pacific region. Undoubtedly, it is a model of successful Sino-French cooperation and one of the significant achievements of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and France.

Executive DPA in Global Sustainable Development
As the global society and environment continue to change, international situations are becoming increasingly complex. The comprehensive sustainable development of people, nature, and society has become an important driving force for economic, social, and civilizational progress, profoundly impacting everyone.
On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France, the International Finance Forum (IFF), leveraging the power of its global members, including numerous financial and political leaders, has launched the “Global Sustainable Development Leaders Program” in collaboration with Paris Sciences et Lettres University (PSL). Together, they are hosting the first Executive Doctorate in Public Affairs in Global Sustainable Development Program.
This program is rooted in the forefront of international academia and grounded in the practice of China’s reforms. It aims to cultivate scholar-managers with a global perspective, strategic thinking, and an innovative spirit. These individuals will be familiar with the international academic discourse and capable of effectively communicating China’s story. The program aspires to contribute Chinese wisdom to the development of international public management theory and industrial economics theory and to provide Chinese experience for advancing global sustainable development management practices.
